At the beginning of this year RVJ Cargo Inspections attended the installation meeting of the VNI-AGRI, the association of Dutch inspection companies in the agricultural sector and also the legal successor of the Association of Independent Inspection Companies and Grain Factors (Verocoq).
The VNI-AGRI promotes the interests of Dutch inspection companies involved in weight and quality control, as well as the sampling of agricultural raw materials and vegetable oils and fats for feed and food safety purposes.
In addition to advocacy, the VNI-AGRI is also committed to promoting safe working conditions at the terminals where the work is performed. The association also aims to promote the entry of newcomers into the industry. To this end, the association will bring the inspection profession to the attention of new target groups, including young people. In line with this, the VNI-AGRI aims to initiate quality education for inspectors and create sufficient training capacity.
Companies can only become members if they are also already members of the Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA) or the Federation of Oils, Seeds and Fats Associations (FOSFA). They must also have been in the inspection business for at least three years and have their own inspectors or auditors on permanent staff. Because members must comply with specific rules of conduct, all members are required to endorse a code of conduct.
